Vibha, a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization supporting children’s education in India and USA, has been invited to participate in C20. The invitation is a testament to the impactful work Vibha has done over 32 years in education for underprivileged children and their communities. Civil20 (C20) 2023 is the international civil society engagement group that provides policy recommendations to the G20 leaders. The group serves as a voice for global civil society and advocates for priorities that promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
A strong pillar for children’s educational development and making them leaders of tomorrow, Vibha will be part of the C20 Education Working Group, which aims to promote education as a fundamental human right and a driver of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Vibha has been a global leader and a leading NGO that volunteers for the welfare of children across US and India. On “India Giving day” organized by Indian Philanthropy Alliance, almost 990 donors made 1286 donations. Vibha contributed their overwhelming response by donating USD 18,455 through 227 donations which was the highest number of donations from any NGO. Vibha keeps on extending it’s hard work in the field of education towards children.
“A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rāmānandāmṛta Chaitanya, Dr. P. Venkat Rangan, Dr. Prema Nedungadi, and the entire Civil20 India 2023 organizers for extending this esteemed invitation. This is a great opportunity for us to share our work on UN SDG4 and learning poverty and advocate for the importance of high-quality foundational public education in India and worldwide,” said Ashwini Kumar, CEO of Vibha.
Vijay Vemulapalli, secretary, board member, and volunteer of Vibha since 1993, has been invited as a distinguished speaker at the opening plenary of the Education and Digital Transformation (EDT) Working Group Summit to be held in Surat, India, on May 20 and May 22, 2023. Ashwini Kumar, CEO of Vibha and volunteer since 2008, is invited to speak at the Education for Life and Global Citizenship virtual panel discussion on April 11, 2023.
Vibha’s participation in C20 will provide a platform to engage with policymakers and global leaders to shape policies and programs for the benefit of children and families living in underserved communities.
“We believe that creating access to high-quality public education is the most critical intervention for disadvantaged children, especially during their early years. I am humbled and excited to represent Vibha at C20, network with various organizations invited by the organizing committee, and share ideas on how to bring sustainable development to the education sector in India.”, said Vijay Vemulapalli, Secretary of Vibha.
C20 is one of the engagement groups of G20 which acts a voice to the Civil Society Organisation (CSO) and inspires people to be the impact or the change they want. They reflect on the common concerns, problems and affairs that are to be resolved. These problems are regarding economic and social development. With their #Youarethelight, Vibha made justice by lighting the lamp of hope and knowledge in children’s life. Vibha’s light of education has made several children read and write efficiently.
Recently, as the India Giving Day theme song, and to celebrate G20 in India, celebrated music composer and singer Shivansh Chhaya Kapil and Vibha collaborated to release a song called India Here To Give with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as the central line in the music. This vibrant song celebrates India’s sounds, captures India’s energy, and calls people to give back to the key issues facing India! It’s a song that urges people to unite and take action to create a positive difference.
