Community Outreach Program (CORP), a day care center program for underprivileged school kids is based in Mumbai. Vibha’s partnership with CORP began in 2006. A few success stories of children supported by CORP are described in this post.
Sohel Sayyed, a 14-year-old was supported by CORP since childhood. His journey at CORP began when he was 6 years of age at CORP’s Thane shelter home. He continued his studies at the Thane center till he successfully completed his 9th standard aided by the nurturing environment – good food, care and discipline, and after a brief break due to family challenges he completed his 10th standard in the Mumbai Government School. Currently, he is teaching kids in the CORP center where he has demonstrated good spoken English language skills.

Rohit Meria, currently an 18-year-old hails from a poor family. He had learned about CORP through his friend which he visited and then later joined CORP initially to fulfill his food and basic needs. His initial experience at CORP was followed by receiving regular training and support for his studies where he showed his total commitment, hard work and devotion. His sincere efforts were paid off by his good scores in his 10th standard final exams which then paved way for his higher education. Currently he is pursuing Information Technology in a private college while working part-time. CORP helped the student with his annual tuition payments enabling him to continue his studies.

Anjali Singh – a CORP beneficiary
Anjali Singh, who was supported by the CORP daycare center from her preschool, she expresses immense gratitude to CORP for stepping up at the right time to support her while she was steeped in challenging family situations including her father’s severe health problems, poor financial condition that barely supported 4 daughters in their family among other things. With the support of CORP, she successfully completed her B. Com and currently pursuing her graduate degree while working part-time.
