Vibha Dallas’ Annual ‘Some-More Fun’ Summer Camps were held over a period of 3 months from June – August this year. Fifty youth and two adult instructors conducted 48 whopping summer camps. There were 450 participants and total $7500 were raised. The numbers were double compared to last year.
There was a large variety of camps ranging from Academics (Mathematics, Science, Python, Coding, Creative Writing, Finance, Hindi, Spanish, SAT), Sports (Chess, Tennis, Basketball) to Arts & Music (Piano, Guitar, Dance, singing) and other activities such as baking, Rubik’s Cube, video game fun, mehndi, yoga, public speaking, debate, sewing, knitting, book club, etc.
The virtual camps gave an opportunity for the youth to develop leadership & tutoring skills, fundraising for our cause as well as service to the community. It’s truly an effort where the kids can learn the fact that they gain more when they give. Due to the huge amount of camps, the process was automated for camps signup and tracking. The camps were conducted very professionally by the instructors and there was a lot of positive feedback for them. Kudos to all the instructors, the youth leaders (Radhika Reddy, Poornima Naganna) and the mentor (Ritesh Mathur) for a very successful event.
