The online singing contest received an overwhelming response and immense love from across the globe.
There were close to 300 entries that came in from ten countries making this a truly global contest. The entries were divided into three categories: Little Champs (age 3 to 13 years), Junior Champs (13-20 years), and Super Champs (age 20 and above). There was also an Indian and a Western category. The judges consisted of the extremely talented and accomplished – Rekha Pallath, Sid Philar, Anudeep Dev, Saraswathi Chaitanya and Ram Durvasula.
There was a preliminary and a final round. The contestants who advanced to the final round had a very engaging and informative mentoring session by Sa Re Ga Ma finalist Nihira Joshi Deshpande and composer, vocalist, and educator Rohith Jayaraman.
On Sunday, June the 13th of 2021, was the climax, The Grand Finale of “THE DREAM VOICE”, where the winners were announced. The event had the flavor of a finale in every sense. Dr. Ruchi Iyengar took us on an entertaining journey which was shown LIVE on the Vibha Facebook page. The channel had about 3000 views. Winners were announced in 3 groups – US, India and International for each of the Little champ, Teen champ and Super champ categories and also for the Indian and Western categories. People poured their love and votes for their near and dear ones for the Public Choice awards which was a separate category. There was some mesmerizing, spellbinding phenomenal singing by the contestants, and some heartwarming stories of the difference Vibha is making on the ground. Kartik Raman, Hema Nayak and Bhavya Pandit who are extremely well-known singers entertained during the finale making it a truly memorable event.
The winners will be having a live session with none other than Padmashri Shankar Mahadevan.
Companies and clinics such as Allied Informatics, Parsons Pointe Dental Care, United Family Homes, Cyrano, Echelon Solutions group sponsored this event.
A total of over 13,000 dollars was raised through this event. The funds raised will go towards Vibha’s Ray of Light campaign which is raising funds for the Covid relief work in India. The campaign has already raised close to 2.2 million dollars. Last but not the least, the passion of VIBHA volunteers never stops to amaze and they always go above and beyond.
