Vibha Dallas: Summer Camps

Vibha started a Ray of Light campaign in April 2020 to ensure business continuity for the project partners through these unprecedented times. 10% of the funds collected were allocated to partners in the US which align with Vibha’s mission and philosophy and had action centers. One of the partners is School on Wheels of Massachusetts whose mission is to support students impacted by homelessness.
“Thank You so much for your recent donation to support the technological needs of our students. Your gift is especially important during these unprecedented times, as the need for educational assistance for students and families facing homelessness has increased dramatically.” – Kathleen Graham, Executive Director, School on Wheels of Massachusetts.

The Dallas action centers have a tradition of conducting summer camps for underprivileged children in the local community for years. One of our youth executive leaders, Jaya Bhaskaram came up with the idea of having youth conduct virtual summer camps globally.
Twenty-one vibrant, enthusiastic, youth instructors conducted a total of twenty-two virtual summer camps. The camps offered ranged from Math camps for rising 5th graders, Algebra, some science camps, geared towards learning Advanced Placement Biology, a physics camp, a geography camp, writing as well as programming camps which were specifically geared towards learning Java & Python; to other fun camps were our Rubik’s cube, chess, photography, crocheting camp and Yoga camp; also speech and debate camps; fine arts camps included guitar camp, an art camp and Bollywood camps.
We had two hundred and fifty participants from across the U.S.A. and raised a total of 45,000 dollars. (Read More)
