To organize and energize a group towards an agreed upon goal is a task that sometimes takes more than one individual.
The Vibha NJ/NY Action Center did just that through ‘Game Day 2017’ on June 3rd at Johnson Park, Piscataway, NJ.
A core group of volunteers, under the leadership of Dimple Kapoor, organized this event, a very first fundraiser of the year with much enthusiasm. Aside from the fact that it proved to be a beautiful day, the event was a success in multiple ways. The group not only raised funds for various Vibha supported projects, but also spread awareness about the organization amongst the participants.
Grabbing this opportunity, the Youth volunteers (Saanjana, Saakshi, Samaksh, Nummair, Ameena, Roshan, Aditya, Sophie, Durga, Rudra, Ashna, Armaan, Eesha, Dishi, Ilham, and Mehrin) also publicized the next fundraiser, the Dream Mile (a 5K Run/Walk) scheduled for September 16th at Skillman Park, Skillman, NJ.
There were several games such as sack race, musical chair and tug of war planned for the participants. Little girls enjoyed getting their palms decorated with henna, kids got their faces decorated with face paint. There was a plethora of snacks and drinks to enjoy as well.
The NJ/NY Action Center volunteer base continues to grow. The group has already started functioning toward its next fundraisers with its great spirit, putting in innumerable number of hours of work in planning and execution.
