Deepak Kumar is a professional engineer who came to the US as a bachelor. He now has two kids and is well settled here. He had the opportunity to a better life here because of his education. He wants to give back to children who may not have the same education opportunities that his kids now have. He wants to teach his kids through example that giving back is morally the right thing to do.
Sneha is a young American national. Having made several trips to India and seen the education, health services, and other basic needs that are lacking for children of the world’s most populated country, she personally saw that what Vibha accomplishes makes an huge impact in the life of an underprivileged child.
They, and others like them, are committed members of Vibha and its mission.
Vibha’s mission is to educate, empower, and enable every individual, be it donor, volunteer, or grass roots project leader, who wish to make a positive difference in the life of the underprivileged child.

Dream Mile 5k is Vibha Los Angeles’s flagship walkathon event that brings the people of LA, Orange County, and the Valley together in support of child education projects in India and the U.S. Since its inception dream seven years ago, the Dream Mile has raised over $60,000 and has had over 1000 participants.
This year’s Dream Mile took place at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California, on Saturday, 10th November 2012.
This year’s proceeds will benefit the CORP INDIA project. Located in Thane, India, this project is dedicated to helping the children of commercial sex workers as well as physically and mentally challenged children who are neglected by their families. These children are at severe risk of malnutrition, homelessness, and disease, as a result of their familial situations.
CORP’s services enable families to pull themselves out of poverty and become self-reliant, independent, and socially responsible.
Deepak and Sneha are two individuals who are positively affecting the life of an underprivileged child. Like any immigrant population that has made USA home, they spread the wealth around thankful for their blessings yet never forgetting that countless children are not so blessed.
