Vibha Vibe Rocks Houston TOP
Vishal Bang

A roaring applause could be heard every 10 minutes at Stafford Civic Center on the evening of August 29th, 2009. It was not a rock star performance; it was much more than that! Houston’s very own professional artists delivered a mind blowing performance for a charity concert – Vibha Vibe.

The festivities featured professional dance routines from Vedic Chants to Belly Dancing, from Indian Classical to Bollywood Dancing, from Folk to Fusion and from Latin to European. Vibha Vibe was hosted for the first time by the Houston chapter of Vibha. The audience was overjoyed.

“I did not expect the event to be so diverse – it was truly amazing” ‚ some said. About 550 dance and music lovers attended the festival. The entertaining emcee‚ Sandeep Srinivasan‚ engaged the audience in between the performances. All performances were well synchronized, delivering an entertaining diaspora of dances from various cultures to the audience. The performers were thrilled. “My students and parents were raving about the show’s excellent organization and capacity turnout” said Rathna Kumar from Anjali Arts center.

“Hats off to you and your team of hard working volunteers”‚ continues Rathna‚ “for the tremendous success of Vibha”. Right from handling the lights‚ camera‚ backstage coordination‚ to ticketing and ushering was undertaken by the volunteers. As they wrapped up the show‚ one could see the sparkle in their eyes for having made a difference in the lives of thousands of children Vibha supports.
